troubleshooting for broken webflashes:
one time installed it is possible to flash dd-wrt from the redboot bootloader without loosing the activation in the following way

fis create ramdisk

this may happen sometimes also if all should be okay. the reason is that the redboot bootloader contains a small bug which causes invalid 
image lengths while loading. i will release a bootloader update soon as possible
