This file describes IDT linux products for IDT evaluation boards. 
A description of the source code and release notes, as well as 
instructions for downloading will be provided here.

Linux 2.6.14 general release for all IDT boards:

Please log on to the IDT FTP site: ftp://ftp2.idt.com 
User Id: apps
Password: 29apps28
All directories and files on this site are hidden. Do not try to list them.
Change directory to pub/LINUX26/.
All linux related files are in this directory.

Please download the following files:

    idt_linux26_docs.tar.bz2
    initrd.linux-2.6.14.tar.bz2
    linux-2.6.14.tar.bz2 (existing users may skip this and download only the patch below)
    linux-2.6.14-idt20060411.patch.tar.bz2 (not to be downloaded by new users)
    mipseltools.tar.bz2 (little endian compiler)
    mipstools.tar.bz2 (big endian compiler)

    Existing IDT linux 2.6 users can use the patch to update their kernel as follows:
     1. Copy the patch file into the directory: /home/idt/
     2. Change directory to /home/idt/linux
     3. Apply patch as: bunzip2 -c ../linux-2.6.14-idt20060411.patch.tar.bz2 | patch -p1

Unzip and un-tar the file "idt_linux26_docs.tar.bz2"
Use your web brower to open the file "index.htm". Review this file carefully. 


KNOWN LIMITATIONS:

(1) Support for IPsec (native to kernel 2.6.x) is not available, and not planned.
(2) Support for ATM driver for IDT RC32355 processor is not yet available.
(3) Support for RP355 board (ADSL interface, USB Host controller driver, VoicePump application, etc.)
    not available and not planned.
